Photographic restoration and retouching involves a lot of time and effort bringing back to life to old torn photographs, they can even be coloured if they are black and white to give it an up to date look. See example below:

Restoration not only limits itself to old photographs, modern portraits can be air brushed to give that 10 years younger look for people who want to look great on their photographs.

A once lifeless black and white photograph was brought back to life with the addition of colours and restoration work.
The photograph had seen extreme wear and tear together with a missing corner as can be seen above. The missing corner was rebuilt using restoration techniques based on the remaining parts of the photo, then given a sepia effect to reflect its age and the clients desires.

Photograph blow ups to canvas, if a customer has a small bespoke photograph, this can be scanned in at high resolution and then blown up to a more desirable size.

Negative and transparency film scanning 35mm and 120mm films. The service involves the images / slides being put onto CD or printed onto canvas / photographic paper.

Photos to canvas, simple as it sounds, picture is brought in by a customer, scanned and then retouched to their specification and then printed on to canvas ready for their wall.

The turn around time of producing a canvas print is about an hour depending on how much retouching / cleaning there is to do to the photograph.

I have currently produced a work book for teaching Adobe Photoshop classes, which will be running from the Linskill Centre in North Shields from Sept ‘08. The classes usually run on an Tuesday evening from 7pm - 9pm and will last a total of 10 weeks. The course costs £40 to join.
